The new Air Jordan Retro 6 colourways have been release for 2010. As usual the Jordan Brand have released some unique colours in their classic retro style sneakers. Arguably one of the better Air Jordan releases in sometime, the VI sees a new colorway, appropriately dubbed the “Oreo.” The kicks take on a mostly white base with clear outsole detailing, black nubuck paneling, and splatter accents. You can grab a pair on our online store Click Here.
Following the “Oreo” release, Jordan Brand continues the VI drops with this new colorway of the sixth signature model in the brand’s iconic Air Jordan line. The kicks pay tribute to the Detroit Pistons as MJ overcome them in 1991 to lift his first title in the epic season where MJ averaged 28.2 points per game, with a colorway featuring a mostly black base with red, white, blue and silver accents amongst suede and patent leather panels. The season after Kobe Bryant was done with adidas, and before he signed with Nike, Jordan Brand outfitted the superstar with retro kicks and PEs. It’s a shame this Air Jordan 6 hadn’t been created at the time, as its “Lakers” colorway would have looked great with Los Angeles’ purple and gold uniforms. Black suede is used as the base on the toe box, forefoot and mid-panel. The remainder of the upper is done with black 3M reflective material. A white and black midsole is complimented with the standard icy clear outsole bits. The Lakers-tribute comes in with the contrast stitching that appears throughout the upper, which has been done with purple, yellow and white thread. Michael Jordan grabbed his first of six NBA Championships in VIs over the Lakers, after finally getting past the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Championships, which explains both color-ups of the Retro 6 we’ve seen. This is a re-release of the original but with a few slight changes from the 1991 release. As all you sneaker heads would know the original had a infra-red midsole and more of a gum sole, whereas the new release has a much darker red which compliments the shoe as it has being tagged the “Bulls” Edition so in contrast has being recreated with the theme of Michael Jordan’s most successful team The Chicago Bulls. This Trainer has alot of history behind it as MJ won his first title in these sneakers over the legendary “Showtime” Los Angeles Lakers led by Magic Johnson.
